EVEN THE HILLS ARE LONELY
Travel to Suðuroy and experience this truly picturesque island. See the two largest towns in Suðuroy, Tvøroyri and Vágur, which are situated near beautiful fjords surrounded by mountains. All the towns and villages of the island are linked by a network of modern roads, which gives easy access to a variety of fascinating landscapes. Visit the northern most villages, Hvalba and Sandvík, where it is still possible to find coal-mining operations. Lítla Dímun, the only uninhabited island in the Faroes, is a magnificent sight. On the southernmost tip of Suðuroy, you reach Sumba. On the way there, you have the option of driving through the tunnel or taking the mountain road, where you also see Beinisvørð, the second largest cliff towering at 469 m. It is a haven for seabirds and a veritable wonder to behold, because of its singular beauty. Upon your arrival in Suðuroy, please stop by the Tourist Information in Vágur or Tvøroyri. It would be our pleasure to help create the perfect itinerary, so that your stay will be a truly unforgettable experience. We can provide detailed information about the many interesting excursions that we offer and you are welcome to ask any questions you might have.
