BIRD CLIFFS AND GROTTOES

The bird cliffs and the grottoes north of Vestmanna are the highlight of the trip to the Faroe Islands. The experience impresses all senses, with the sound of sea birds, the whispering of the ocean and the reflection of the water that intermingles visually with the shapes of the weather beaten rocks rising into the peaks and touching the sky. We sail along the rock-wall into narrow sounds where the cliffs on both sides rise perpendicularly skyward. As the boat glides into the grottoes and the darkness, you enter another world.
