TINGANES - HIKING TRIP
|

See a part of our national heritage, a small peninsula in the middle of the harbour of Tórshavn, where you find the old parliamentary site, the Ting, and the old town. The walk from the old Ting past medieval warehouses and black tarred houses to the new parliament just north of Tinganes, is a stroll through time from Viking age into modernity. Tuesdays and Thursdays in June, July and August. Duration 1,5 or 3 hours. Requires minimum 6 participants.

STAKKUR - HIKING TRIP

From the small village Tjørnuvik, you can join in a hike from the village towards the seastack Stakkur, Here you get the breathtaking experience of being hauled in a basket unto Stakkur. The whole village is involved in theese events. The event is taking place twice during the summer, and weather depending.

SKÆLINGSFJALL - GUIDED HIKING TRIP

A guided hike to the top of Skælingsfjall (767m) in late June. Experience a Faroese summers night, a fantastic view from the top and hopefully an unforgettable sunrise. The hike is hard and steep. This is a once in a year event depending on the weather. Requires minimum 15 participants.

DRUNNHVÍTUTÚRAR - GUIDED TOUR
|
The world’s largest colonie of Storm-petrels is on Nólsoy. An night trip is possible by taking the evening ferry and accommodation at Kaffistovan in Nólsoy. An hour before sunset a guided tour is arranged with a local ornithologist, who will take you to the nesting grounds and show you the birds. From June to September. Requires minimum 4 participants. Including overnight stay in Kaffistovan. Breakfast and ferry are not included.

FISHING TRIP

Arranged from Vestmanna with M/B Blástein. From May to August a halfday trip from Vestmanna takes you to the nearest fishingwaters, where you can try you luck and you might end up with an enormous cod or halibut. The halfday trips are every morning and afternoon, while a full day trip or a “Fish and Eat” trip are by appointment. The operator provides you with all the gear you need. Halfday trip: from May to August every day, weather permitting, at 9.30 and 14.30.

FAROESE CULTURAL EVENING

Experience a Faroese cultural evening in the old theatre in Torshavn. Poetry, drama, music and chain dance and addition the taste of Faroese food and drink. Every Tuesday from mid June to mid August. Remember to book in advance.

BUS TOURS

Tórshavn is not only the capital of the Faroe Islands, it is also the centre of the archipellago and therefor an exelent place to stay. If you have your own car, you can reach any place you want and come back the same day.
