Trøllanes means »Foreland of Trolls« and according to tradition the village has its name because of trolls swarming into the village on Twelfth Night (January 6) every year. Further on you come to Kalsvík, where you can savour the fantastic sight of the 537 m high peak, Borgarin, which Nólsoyar Páll, the national hero, is said to have climbed.
