SIGHTSEEING IN KLAKSVÍK- GUIDED STROLL

A guided stroll through the town of Klaksvík. Klaksvík is the second largest town on The Faroe Islands. On this stroll you will get the opportunity to learn about our past when visiting the local museum, which is housed in the old royal trade monopoly buildings. Then we pay the church, Christianskirkjan, a visit. The magnificent church built in 1963 is an architectural marvel. Inside the church a Faroese wooden rowing boat is hanging down from the ceiling, symbolising the protection of the local fishermen, as the main industry here is the fishing industry. Afterwards we walk the lovely path out to Gerðabøur and the memorial to the two great avalanches of 1745 and 1765.

ENNIBERG - GUIDED HIKING TRIP

TO HÁLSUR - KLAKKUR - HIKING TRIP

On this trip you get an incredible view of the unique country side around Klaksvík. From Klakkur there is a magnificent view of Leirvík fjord and the island Eysturoy. To the north The Kalsoy mountain range pierces the sky. Below you is Klaksvík harbour with all its activity. According to legend people from Klaksvík would sit here to watch for pirate ships. Pirates used to terrorise The Faroe Islands constantly in days gone by. This trip is an easy walk fitted for everybody. Duration 2-3
